Pitkin Site Terms

These conditions govern access to and use of Pitkin County Busted Mugshots. By using the site, a visitor agrees to follow them. Anyone who does not accept these terms should stop using the site.

This site is privately owned and has no affiliation with Pitkin County, a sheriff, jail, police department, court, corrections agency, or other government body. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency. The site and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, housing, tenant screening, or other uses governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its role is limited to pointing visitors toward Colorado and Pitkin County custody and public-record resources.

Nature of the Service

Pitkin County Busted Mugshots is an independent reference site. It stores no official jail roster, booking photograph, arrest report, or court file. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, accept bond, submit a records request, or file court papers.

The content links to the Pitkin current-inmate report, Sheriff Records, municipal police custodians, Colorado Judicial records, the Colorado Department of Corrections, and selected outside research tools. Those offices and providers remain responsible for their own records and services.

Acceptable Use Rules

Use must remain lawful, respectful, and compatible with normal site operation. A visitor agrees not to:

  • violate any applicable law;
  • stalk, harass, threaten, or harm another person;
  • use site information for employment, housing, lending, insurance, tenant, or other eligibility decisions;
  • seek access to accounts, servers, or data without authorization;
  • run automated bots, scrapers, or bulk extraction tools; or
  • damage, overload, or interrupt access for others.

No Consumer Reports

Neither this site nor its advertising partners is a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. They do not issue background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. A visitor agrees not to use any site or linked result for:

  • a hiring, firing, promotion, or other employment decision;
  • housing or tenant screening;
  • creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing;
  • licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government benefit; or
  • any other decision regulated by the FCRA.

Third-Party Destinations

Links may lead to jail reports, Sheriff and police pages, court and corrections portals, legal resources, news outlets, or outside search services. A link is not an endorsement. This site does not control a destination’s content, accuracy, availability, price, or data practices. Visitors should review that destination’s own terms and privacy policy.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise of:

  • complete, accurate, or current information;
  • continuous or uninterrupted operation;
  • freedom from errors, defects, or security flaws; or
  • complete coverage in a partner’s search results.

Custody and public records can change at any time. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office or another government agency.

Limits of Liability

To the greatest extent allowed by law, the site, its owners, and its partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from access to, reliance on, or inability to use the site or a linked service.

Your Responsibility for Claims

A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the site, its owners, and its partners harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by that visitor’s use of the site or violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless otherwise stated, the site’s original text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Pitkin County Busted Mugshots or its content partners. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, or modified without written permission, apart from uses allowed by law.

Revisions to These Terms

These conditions may be changed at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted, and later use of the site is governed by that version.

Suspension of Access

Access may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time and for any reason, with or without advance notice, especially when use threatens the site or violates these terms.

Colorado Law Applies

Colorado law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any permitted dispute must be filed in a court with jurisdiction in Colorado.

If One Term Fails

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the other provisions remain effective. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
